Not all soup kitchen patrons are without a home. In fact, some of them can’t leave home.
That is one reason Warm Blessings in Elizabethtown is gearing up to deliver meals to patrons’ doorsteps.
Linda Funk, executive board chairwoman, said many seniors and shut-ins who need food also need personal contact.
“As folks get older and can’t get out, it’s a very lonely thing in their lives,” she said. “When they live alone, it’s good to have someone check on them and have personal contact with them.”
