Sometimes acting on a whim can pay off. In Master Sgt. Jeff Davis’ case, his impulse landed him $40,000.
Davis, who won money Saturday from the Kentucky Powerball drawing, said he hadn’t bought a ticket in at least three years when he purchased three that day at a Radcliff convenience store from a kiosk machine.
“That’s actually what caught my eye. I didn’t know they had machines like that,” he said. “And I thought, ‘Eh, I haven’t bought one in a while. Why not?’”
