Every Monday, Becky Anderson gives free art lessons to numerous local children at the Elizabethtown branch of the Hardin County Library.

This week’s art lesson had several children using watercolors to paint leaves. The children learned about artist Georgia O’Keeffe, known for her paintings of enlarged flowers and why leaves changed color in the fall.

Anderson holds two camps. The afternoon camp, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., is geared for children up to fifth-graders. Anderson’s morning art camp, from 10 to 11 a.m., is aimed at homeschooled children up to eighth-grade.

“I just think it’s important that I can reach as many kids with art lessons as possible,” Anderson said.

To register for the classes, go to the children’s area in the Elizabethtown branch of the Hardin County Public Library.
