A 1983 Elizabethtown High School graduate was one of two people killed Sunday night in a head-on collision in Taylor County.

Mark Isham, 53, of

London, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Taylor County Coroner’s Office, according to the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office. Isham was an

associate professor of psychology at Somerset Community College.

The sheriff’s office said the crash happened around 6:15 p.m. on Ky. 210.

Isham’s vehicle was struck in the eastbound emergency lane when it was hit by a westbound vehicle driven by Brandon Henry, 21, of Campbellsville, authorities said. Henry was attempting to pass three other vehicles in a no-passing zone, witnesses told police, when he struck Isham’s vehicle.

Henry was treated at the scene by Taylor County EMS, according to the release and then transported to Taylor Regional Hospital, where he died.

A passenger in Henry’s vehicle, Katelyn Carnes of Glendale, was airlifted to University Hospital in Louisville. No information was available regarding her condition.
