Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield is working to make it easier for Kentucky’s older adults to improve their health and well-being.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at The State Theater in downtown Elizabethtown, Anthem is hosting a “TV’s Golden Age” Clinic Day for Medicare Advantage users enrolled in Anthem’s Medicare Advantage health plans.
Attendees will have access to health services including a flu shot, bone density scans, diabetic screenings and blood pressure checks. They also can speak with a pharmacist if they have medication questions.
Public Relations Director Hieu Nguyen said Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield is committed to helping members improve their health and well-being.
“Having health information and many health care services available in one easy location is one way Anthem strives to enhance our members’ health care experience,” he said..
For the Golden Age part of the event, Anthem plans to show classic episodes of TV shows such as “I Love Lucy” and “M*A*S*H.” There also will be bingo and door prizes for participants.
Nguyen said Anthem organizes clinic days, where many health care services are available in one place, throughout the year for Anthem’s Medicare Advantage members. As these events are scheduled, he said members are notified through mailers and other means.
Members should bring their ID and Anthem membership card to the event.
“We encourage consumers enrolled in Anthem’s Medicare Advantage plans to attend this event to ensure they are receiving the health care services and health information they need to lead healthier lives,’’ he said.
