The funeral is scheduled Thursday for the 8-year-old killed in Breckinridge County by a passing motorist as he retrieved the family’s mail.

James Keith “Jack” Voyles Jr. of McDaniels died Saturday — 10 days after his eighth birthday. He was the second of four children and the only son of Keith and Candance Voyles. He was struck by a car while going to the mailbox and died in front of his home on Ky. 259.

His funeral is at 4 p.m. CDT Thursday at Pleasant View Baptist Church in McQuady with burial in the church cemetery.

Bradley Mattingly, 35, of Leitchfield was arrested by Kentucky State Police and is being held in the Breckinridge County Detention Center on charges of reckless homicide and leaving the scene of an accident.
