The names of two people killed in a Tuesday afternoon collision between a motorcycle and pickup truck were released today by Elizabethtown police.

The operator of the motorcycle who was pronounced deceased at the scene was Richard Mumford, 39, of Louisville.

Mumford’s passenger, Heather Abdel-Rahman, 39, of Elizabethtown, also died from injuries suffered in the crash around 3 p.m.

Neither person on the motorcycle was wearing a helmet, according to Elizabethtown Police Department spokesman Chris Denham.

Arthur Dennis, 57, of Vine Grove, was the driver of a pickup truck involved in the crash near Harbor Freight.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation by EPD's collision reconstruction team.

Abdel-Rahman was transported by Hardin County EMS ambulance after the collision and died a short time after Mumford was pronounced dead.

In addition to EPD and Hardin County EMS responding to the crash scene, the Elizabethtown Fire Department and Hardin County Sheriff’s Office also assisted.
