Detours established Saturday on Bluegrass Parkway has been removed after a crossover was created to allow eastbound traffic to avoid a bridge in need of repair.

Two-way traffic and reduced speed limits are in place in Nelson County.

After an inspection and analysis of the bridge over Beech Fork, the Transportation Cabinet decided to close both eastbound lanes between mile markers 21-25 over the weekend. The new crossover opened Thursday eliminated the need to detour on Exit 21 and re-enter the parkway after a detour through Bardstown.

Eastbound lanes will be routed around the bridge until repairs are made.
