Teacher nominations sought for shelter animal photo series

The Friends of Hardin County Animal Shelter is asking for Hardin County residents to nominate their favorite teachers by Sunday to be featured in the group’s back-to-school photos along with the shelter’s adoptable pets.

Friends of Hardin County Animal Shelter board member Sarah Fellows said the idea came from several people last year after the group’s Facebook page showcased community members with adoptable pets.

Fellows said the nominations would be a great way to engage the Hardin County community.

“Both our animals and our teachers are treasures in our community and they kind of belong to all of us,” she said.

Teachers can be public or private professionals and will have their photo taken by a professional photographer. To nominate a teacher, private message the Friends of Hardin County Animal Shelter Facebook page with the teacher’s name, contact information and a few sentences on why the teacher should be featured.

Nominations also can be emailed to FOHCAS. KY@gmail.com. The deadline to submit nominations is Sunday.
