  • Tourism continues to rise in Hardin County

Hardin County tourism rose more than 2 percent in 2011 over the previous year, according to statistics released earlier this week by the Kentucky Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet.

Local officials report the county's tourism has continued to make gains the last few years despite the nation's struggling economy.

"It is a trend that seems to define our area," said Sherry Murphy, executive director of the Elizabethtown Tourism and Convention Bureau. "Hardin County has remained strong as far as positive growth."
