    Stacy Geneva Jandl and Thomas Charles Kuhn Jr., both of Radcliff, were married June 5, 2010, at Camp Carlson. A reception followed in Carlson Hall.

    The bride is the daughter of Adrian and Barbara Bambini of Radcliff. She is the mother of Henry Jandl and Scott Bambini.

    The groom is the son of Tom and Judy Kuhn Sr. and the grandson of Gertrude Hollinsead, all of Louisville. His children are Lisa Haley, Kandace Kuhn, Ross Metras, Tonya Kuhn, Bryan Kuhn and Loren Metras.

  • Pence to celebrate 85th birthday

     

    Edna Rainey Pence will celebrate her 85th birthday with a surprise reception given by her children in her honor, from 3 to 5 p.m. June 5, 2010, at the home of Mickey and Duke Edwards, 924 Clifty Church Rd., Big Clifty.

    She is the widow of Gilbert Pence, to whom she was married for more than 59 years. She retired from George H. Goodman School in Grayson County where she served as cook for many years.

    She has one son, Norman Pence; three daughters, Mickey Edwards, Judy Marchbanks and Kathy Crawford; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

  • Radcliff Rotary Club learns about water

    Guest of Radcliff Rotarian Bill Rissel recently was Jim Bruce, general manager of Hardin County Water District No. 1 and Phil Clark, plant supervisor of the Pirtle Spring Water Treatment Plant.

    Bruce’s presentation centered on the new Pirtle Spring facility and the water supply available from that source. The improved plant will allow the water district to provide improved service to its customers and ultimately reduce costs.

  • July 4 event draws hundreds to Keyes Park

    Soldiers and their families, both long-enlisted and recently commissioned, spent Sunday evening at  Fort Knox’s Keyes Park enjoying and participating in the post’s annual Independence Day celebration.

    By mid-afternoon, hundreds of attendees had arrived at the park to find a good spot to watch the night’s firework display.

    Others positioned themselves closer to daytime events, which included jazz, rock and traditional music courtesy of Army bands.

    David and Christine Martin of Radcliff announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their son, Timothy, to Dara Mieze, daughter of Richard and Laurie Mieze of Pittsburgh.

    The bride-to-be is a 2010 graduate of LaRoche College with a degree in interior design.

    The prospective groom is a Purple Heart recipient for his service in Afghanistan and is attending Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh.

    The wedding is at 4 p.m., June 19, 2010, in Pittsburgh.
