  • Gray graduates from Navy basic training

    GRAY. Navy Seaman David A. Gray, son of Teddi D. and John D. Gray of Radcliff, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training and was meritoriously promoted to his current rank at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill.

    Gray is a 2008 graduate of North Hardin High School in Radcliff


  • Warm Blessings gets ‘boxed’

    Elizabethtown Lowe’s donated large boxes to Warm Blessings Soup Kitchen to support the upcoming Cardboard Nation “A Homeless Experience” at ECTC campus Sept. 17. 

  • Camp Knox Masonic Lodge has Widows Night

    Camp Knox Lodge No. 919 in Radcliff honored the widows of deceased members on Aug. 14. Those attending were, from left, Becky Brecht, Nellie Morgan, Larissa Vanderwedge, Anna Bowman, Ellie Morrison, Karen Maschak, Jean Strain, Janice Demaree and Betty Embry. Guest speakers were Judge Kim Winkenhofer-Shumate and Radcliff Police Department Officer Bryce Shumate.


  • Pets, owners bow wowed



    A violinist played the opening hymn, “All Creatures of Our God and King,” accompanied by singing, yips, woofs and meows.

    After some animal-related prayers, clerics with straw whisks sprinkled holy water on dozens of pets during a Blessing of the Animals ceremony Sunday at St. James Catholic Church.

    Mr. and Mrs. Robert Campbell of Elizabethtown announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Christina Mae Campbell, to Joseph Allen Douglass Jr., son of Joseph Allen Douglass Sr. and Stephanie Shultz, both of Lebanon, Mo.

    The bride-to-be is a graduate of Midway College and is completing her Master of Business degree at the University of Louisville. She is employed by South Central Bank in Elizabethtown.

  • Parents welcome Brayden Scott

    Mitchell and Alycia Priddy of Upton announce the birth of a son, Brayden Scott Priddy, on July 14, 2010. He weighed 6 pounds and was 17 ¾ inches long.

    Brother is Trevor Priddy.

    Grandparents are Danny and Jewell Priddy and Mike and Connie Ireland, all of Upton.

    Great-grandparents are Burton and Edna Knight and Carlos Priddy, all of Upton, and Gracie Newton of Clarkson; and great-great-grandmother is Winnie Hawkins of Upton.

    Mary Jane Brian Beeler

    Mary Jane Brian Beeler, 77, of Lebanon Junction, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, at her residence.

    She was born Nov. 21, 1932, in Colesburg and died peacefully at her home in Lebanon Junction on Sept. 30, 2010. She was a housewife and homemaker.
