  • Boy Scouts hold recognition dinner

     

    On Jan. 15, St. James Catholic Church in Elizabethtown hosted the Annual Recognition Dinner for the Frontier District of Boy Scouts of America. This dinner honors adult leaders, Scout Troops and Cub Scout Packs, as well as individual Scouts who have had an outstanding impact in the District through service to their unit, the District or the community at large.

    Johnathon F. Boles, Frontier District Advancement Chairman served as Master of Ceremonies.

    Father Chuck Walker, pastor of St. James Catholic Church, provided the invocation.

  • Radcliff Rotary adds two new members

    The Radcliff Rotary club recently added two new members, David Bollinger and Scott Schmuck, both sponsored by Rotarian Brett Pyles. Bollinger is collection system supervisor with Veolia Water North America. He and wife, Sara, and five children live in Radcliff. Schmuck is finance and accounting manager, Hardin County Water District No. 1. He is an Elizabethtown native and has a teenage son.

  • Emma Pitts donates hair to Locks of Love

    On Feb. 3, Emma Pitts, left, age nine, donated 10 inches of her hair to Locks of Love, for children who have lost their hair due to illness. Katye Oldham, stylist at "Hair and Nail Detail" Salon at Etown Swim and Fitness did the honors. Emma is the daughter of Don Pitts and Jenny Pitts, right.

    Jason and Patty Hainer of Guston announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Amber Joleen Lynch of Guston, to Justin Matthew Garner of Arnold, Mo.

    The bride-to-be is an A-10 mechanic in the Air Force.

    The prospective groom is the son of Donna Garner of St. Louis and Jeff Garner of Hazelwood, Mo. He is also an A-10 mechanic in the Air Force.

    The wedding and reception will be at the home of Bill and Carmen Hainer in Boston, Ky.

    Kayla Kincer and Kyle Hammer from Elizabethtown High School were guests of the Elizabethtown Rotary Club on Feb. 16.

  • Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown holds spaghetti supper

    The Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown recently held a spaghetti supper and silent auction at the Brown-Pusey House with 41 in attendance.

    The supper was catered by Back Home Catering and a committee lead by Delta Fulks provided pies. It was an evening of fellowship for club women and their guests. The auction items were purchased at the conclusion of the evening.
