Heavy rain predicted for today should help Hardin County’s corn crop recover — at least somewhat — from recent hot, dry weather.
“It will save the day if we get this,” local grower Richard Preston said.
By that he doesn’t mean it’ll be the best crop ever — just typical for Kentucky.
Depending on when the rows were planted, corn may be pollinating now. And rain is crucial at this stage.
