    CRAZY WEATHER. For the month of January, the weather has been so crazy. We have had rain, snow, sleet, warm and cold temperatures and even tornadoes. It makes you wonder what February has in store for us.

    Political shenanigans take place once a decade as legislators in power attempt to gain an advantage by redrawing district boundaries in ways considered beneficial to the interests of their allies.

    Recent decisions in Frankfort that turn the map of Hardin County into a jigsaw puzzle are nothing new. Complaints about having the county's influence diluted, seeing precincts sliced into three pieces or Radcliff split into four districts are not new.

  • Local Roads Scholar honored at graduation ceremonies

    The Technology Transfer Program of the Kentucky Transportation Center honored a local Roads Scholar – Gary Stewart, Hardin County Road Department — on Nov. 9 at Rough River Dam State Resort Park in Falls of Rough for completing the 2011 Kentucky Roads Scholars/Road Masters Training Program.

  • Clenneys celebrate 50th anniversary

    The Rev. and Mrs. Ty Clenney will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Jan. 26, 2012.
    Scotty Cocanougher of Springfield and Ty Clenney of Covington were married Jan. 26, 1962, at Beech Grove Baptist Church near Springfield by the Rev. Wendell Romans, church pastor.
    The Rev. Clenney has pastored churches in Hardin, Elliott, Mercer, Monroe, Marion, Green and Boyle counties in Kentucky and Fairfield, Ohio. Mrs. Clenney is a retired teacher. They now reside at a lake home on Barren River Lake near Scottsville.

  • Logsdons celebrate 50th anniversary

    Bill C. and Janie Elmore Logsdon of Glasgow will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Jan. 29, 2012.
    They were married Jan. 27, 1962, by Brother Roy Barnett Jr. at First Christian Church in Elizabethtown.
    Mr. Logsdon is the son of the late Floyd and Ger-lean Logsdon. Mrs. Logsdon is the daughter of Emily and the late Garnett Elmore.
    They have a son, Todd Logsdon of Glasgow; and two grandchildren.
