    This Thanksgiving holiday, as the end of another year draws near, I’m thankful for important things.

    BOWLING GREEN — The John Hardin Bulldogs won Friday night in Bowling Green to earn a return trip next week with a much bigger prize on the line.

    The Bulldogs jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter, and after the Bowling Green Purples tied the game at 21-all, senior quarterback Alex Dingle scored from a yard out in the fourth quarter to lead John Hardin to a 28-21 victory on Monie Beard Field at E.L. Donaldson Stadium.

  • Law enforcement, schools warn of sexting dangers

    HARDIN COUNTY — Police say it happens here, but the incidents have not resulted in criminal charges or publicized tragedy such as those that have occurred in other Midwest communities.

    The “it” is sexting, and local law enforcement say it needs to be taken seriously.

  • Club has program on staying “heart healthy”

     

    The Vine Grove Woman’s Club met in October with guest speaker Hazel McLaughlin presenting her personal story about heart surgery and warning signs for women. McLaughlin is the spokesperson for the American Heart Association for Duvall County, Fla.

    President Sallie Potts presented Donna Betson, club member and chairwoman of the Kentucky Patriots, a check for $150 for her group’s “Wreaths Across America” project.

    Members of the club also brought new stuffed animals for the police and fire departments to give out.
