    Amy Michelle DeVore of Bonnieville and Jeffrey Wayne Riggs of Upton announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Jerry and Debbie DeVore of Bonnieville. She is a 1996 graduate of Hart County High School and is a paralegal at Kerrick, Stivers, Coyle & VanZant.

    The prospective groom is the son of Jerry Riggs of Upton and Angie Riggs of Cave City. He is a 1999 graduate of Hart County High School and is an assistant manager at Wingfoot Truck Care.

  • Currie promoted to Captain

    CURRIE. Nicholas C. Currie has been promoted to the rank of captain in the Army. Currie is an aviator assigned to the Task Force Destiny, 101st Combat Aviation Brigade at Kandahar Air Field, Afghanistan, and has served in the military for three years.  A 2003 graduate of Great Bridge High School in Chesapeake, Va., he received a bachelor’s degree in 2007 from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla. He is the son of Michael J. and Ann R. Currie of Fort Knox.
