  • Arsonist sentenced to 12 years for apartment fire

    A man accused of setting fire to an apartment on Redmar Drive in Radcliff was formally sentenced to 12 years in prison Tuesday after pleading guilty April 7 to an amended second-degree arson charge and eight counts of wanton endangerment for those endangered by the Sept. 10, 2009, fire.

    According to police and the nine-count indictment against 33-year-old Victor Martinez, an accelerant was used to ignite a couch inside an apartment building at 1377 Redmar Drive in Radcliff.

  • RPD: woman held at knife-point

    A Radcliff man under restraints of a judge’s emergency protective order was jailed late Monday on a charge of unlawful imprisonment after holding a woman at knife-point at a home in Radcliff, police said.

    According to a criminal citation filed against him, Marc Kevin Woodson, 48, whose address is listed as 1572 Red Bud Circle, refused to allow an unidentified woman to leave the living room of the Radcliff home where the alleged incident occurred.

    Charged with indecent exposure, a former E-town Swim & Fitness Center lifeguard was jailed Monday after one boy’s claim about a May 16 incident at T.K. Stone Middle School spurred an Elizabethtown detective into action.

    Kelly Slone of the Elizabethtown Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for Carl Staton after interviewing him last week.

    She said the married father of two exposed his genitals May 16 to a 10-year-old boy at the indoor pool.
