A portion of Nicholas Street will be closed to traffic starting this week and won’t reopen until late December.
The road will be closed between 613 and 701 Nicholas Street beginning 6 a.m. Wednesday and is expected to reopen Dec. 23. City Engineer Scott Reynolds said the city will replace an aging culvert in the area.
“It’s at a bad angle, too,” Reynolds said, adding the culvert’s placement will be realigned to maximize water flow.
During construction, motorists are urged to use Leitchfield Road as an alternate route.
