    The Meade County Lady Waves split two games over the weekend, falling to 3rd Region rival Grayson County, 83-69 on Saturday and beating 11th District rival Breckinridge County, 68-64 in overtime Friday.

    n Leading 41-31, the visiting Lady Cougars extended their lead to 18 in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.

    Junior post Scarlett Powers led Meade County (3-5) with 19 points, six rebounds, two steals and one assist, while senior forward Carly Evans added 17 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals.

  • Senior Republican Women hold forum

    Attendees at the Nov. 12 meeting of the HCSRWF.

    The Hardin County Senior Republican Women’s Forum met Nov. 12 at Gondolier Italian Restaurant in Elizabethtown. In addition to the regular members, there were several associate members in attendance and new officers for 2010 were elected.

    The next meeting of the group will be at 5 p.m., Jan. 21, at Golden Corral. Women and men of all ages are welcome. For more information, contact Alice Pelkey at 769-1464.

  • E'town Lions name November EHS Student of the Month

    Garrett Hinton was the November Elizabethtown High School student of the month for the Elizabethtown Lions Club. He is an accomplished student, has a passion for golf and has won many accolades. He is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and has been a five-year member of the EHS Golf Team, winning Region 5 Individual Championship twice. He helped the Panthers attain fourth place in the Individual Kentucky State Tournament.
