    VERSAILLES Elizabethtown’s girls’ swimming team finally put an end to their long-standing title drought – taking down the Yellow Jackets’ in their home pool.

    Behind two relay and two individual titles, the Lady Panthers captured the 3rd Region championship Saturday at the Falling Springs Arts and Recreation Center.

  • BOYS' PREP BASKETBALL: Hendrix, Ruttley lead Trojans past Knights (2/12)

    First, the North Hardin Trojans got their full complement of players back. Now, they are starting to get their swagger back.

    The Trojans extended their season-high winning streak to four as senior center Adam Hendrix and senior guard Jermaine Ruttley combined for 48 points to lead the Trojans to a 63-50 victory over the Marion County Knights on Friday night at the Roby Dome.

  • GIRLS' PREP BASKETBALL: No. 2 Marion pulls away from North for 55-40 win (2/12)

    The North Hardin Lady Trojans had a perfect game plan against the second-ranked Marion County Lady Knights, and for three quarters, they executed it perfectly.

    But the Lady Knights showed why they’re one of the state’s best teams as they opened the fourth quarter with a 10-0 run and clamped down defensively to pull away for a 55-40 victory Friday night in the Roby Dome.

    I had my first Easter flower to blossom several days ago. My memory isn’t what it used to be, but I can’t remember ever having them blossom in February before. Someone said they had a few Forsythia blossoms in December. It has been a very unusual year, but I have enjoyed most of it.

    Timothy David Gordon and Kathryn Ruth Ward were married Aug. 20, 2011, in an outdoor ceremony at the V3 Ranch overlooking the Ten Mile mountain range and the town of Breckenridge, Colo.

    The bride is the daughter of Mike and Janet Ward of Camdenton, Mo.

    The groom is the son of Dennis and Patricia Gordon of Union, formerly of Elizabethtown.

    The couple resides in Columbia, Mo., and plan to honeymoon this May in Cancun, Mexico, when the current academic year concludes.
