  • Parents welcome Carli Elizabeth Peters

    Derrick and Amy Peters of Cecilia announce the birth of a daughter, Carli Elizabeth Peters, on June 5, 2011, at Baptist Hospital East. She weighed at 8 pounds, 4.5 ounces and was 21 inches long.

    Grandparents are Marion and Gail Ray of Flaherty, Stephen and Carol Peters of Elizabethtown and Lisa and Tom Vittitow of Brandenburg.

    Great-grandparents are Judie Francis of Garrett, Francis Dunn of Cecilia and Linda Skees of Stephensburg; and great-great-grandparents are Thelma Dunn of Elizabethtown and Robert and Lola Fairchild of Farmer City, Ill.

    Amanda and Chase Conrads of Elizabethtown announce the birth of a son, Cale Chase Conrads, on April 28, 2011, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces and was 21 inches long.

    Grandparents are Donnie and Janet Logsdon and Phillip and Julie Conrads, all of Elizabethtown.

    Great-grandparents are Herbert and Levorn Graham of Elizabethtown; and great-great-grandparents are Josh and Elizabeth Graham of Elizabethtown.

  • Parents welcome Maxwell Ezra

    Christa Danielle Ball and Joshua Doyle McKenzie, both of Elizabethtown, announce the birth of a son, Maxwell Ezra McKenzie, on July 2, 2011, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He weighed 10 pounds, 3 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    Sibling is Madeline Grace McKenzie, age 4.

    Paternal grandparents are Larry and Judy McKenzie of Elizabethtown. Maternal grandparents are Danny Ball and Andrea Belcher of Eastview and Sherry Christopher Ball of Elizabethtown.

    Dr. Henry Bunch, D.M.D. recently attended a training course in Lexington on Botox and Dermal Filler treatments sponsored by the American Academy of Facial Esthetics. Now qualified to administer Botox and Juvaderm treatments, Dr. Bunch will add this to the list of cosmetic and medical dentistry services available in his office located in the Helmwood Medical Center on Dixie Highway in Elizabethtown. Bunch Family Dentistry is striving to offer up-to-date cosmetic dentistry practices and highly comprehensive dental care.

  • PREP VOLLEYBALL: Schell, LaRue County look to continue recent success (08/07)

    For the past three years, LaRue County has been a force to be reckoned with on the 5th Region volleyball scene. Since coach Ben Schell took over in the 2008 season, the Lady Hawks have averaged more than 23 overall wins and more than 17 region victories per season, appearing in the region tournament every year.

    Shajuana Ditto is back home.

    After coaching two years at Taylor County High School, she has returned to her roots.

  • PREP VOLLEYBALL: Senior-laden Elizabethtown has plenty of experience (08/07)

    There’s no substitute for experience and a deep Elizabethtown squad has plenty of substitutes with it.

    Coach Tim Hinkle graduated four players, all starters, from last year’s team which won 31 matches and advanced to the finals of the 17th District and 5th Region tournaments. And three of those four graduates were All-Area honorees at least once.

    But the Lady Panthers’ cupboard is far from bare.
