Man killed in wreck

A Hodgenville man was killed Sunday in a wreck on Leafdale Road.

Daniel L. Parker, 22, was driving west shortly after 7 a.m. three miles north of town when his vehicle ran off the roadway in a curve, Kentucky State Police reported. It struck a wooden fence before hitting two culverts and overturning, the police report said.

Parker, who was not wearing a seat belt, was partially ejected and died at the scene, police said.

HARDIN COUNTY — High school students got a real-life civics lesson.

Four local high schools participated Friday in Kids Voting, giving students a chance to cast their own vote for president in booths set up at the schools. The schools took the opportunity to teach about the electoral process and to discuss this particular election.
