    Mr. and Mrs. Roger Vance of Vine Grove and Joel Bernard of Cub Run announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Ashley Elizabeth Bernard, to William Aurthur Pape, son of Steven and Vickie Pape of Morgantown.

    The bride-to-be is a 2005 graduate of North Hardin High School and a 2009 graduate of Western Kentucky University, where she received her Bachelor of science degree in human resources.

  • Helping Hand presents donation

    Helping Hand recently received a donation from Farm Bureau of $500 and a tote of food to give to a client. Helping Hand allowed people to register for one week before drawing out a winner. Henry White, executive director of Helping Hand, presents the food to Betty Lewis.

    Rik Hawkins, president and CEO of the Elizabethtown-Hardin County Chambers of Commerce, said he feels perceptions concerning alcohol are changing in Kentucky.

    At least that argument can be made for parts of central Kentucky. Within the last month, two cities have taken strides to change their alcohol standards.

  • Chevalier graduates from basic training

     

    CHEVALIER. Air Force Airman Jacques R. Chevalier graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. he airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. He is the son of Charles Chevalier of Casa Grande, Ariz., and brother of Andre Chevalier of Elizabethtown. Chevalier is a 2008 graduate of Casa Grande High School.

  • Girl Scout Troop 178 learns about fire safety

    Girl Scout Troop 178 which meets at College Heights United Methodist Church enjoyed a tour of Central Hardin Fire department. They were thrilled to learn about fire safety and about the equipment used by firefighters. They were particularly thrilled to be hosted by two female firefighters and learn that fire fighting is a career that is available to girls also.
