  • Deputy sought in shooting death captured

    WATERLOO, Iowa – A Simpson County Deputy Sheriff sought in his ex-girlfriend’s shooting death surrendered to police shortly after midnight Tuesday in the parking lot of an Iowa hotel.

    Kentucky State Police received unconfirmed reports of Deputy Randall Creek being seen in the Hardin County area shortly after the Sunday morning shooting of ex-girlfriend Debbie Rediess at her Smith’s Grove home in Simpson County.

    FRANKFORT — A spokeswoman for Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway said a response to an August letter from Elizabethtown City Council candidates questioning the pricing tactics of Elizabethtown gasoline dealers will be made by the end of the week.

    “I talked to our folks today who are looking into it and they said they had received the letter,” Conway spokeswoman Allison Martin said Tuesday. “We should have a response to that by the end of the week.”

  • Brandenburg man indicted on federal child porn charges

    LOUISVILLE

    A Brandenburg man will be arraigned in federal court Tuesday in Louisville on charges of knowingly attempting to receive images of child pornography over the Internet and knowingly possessing images of child pornography which had been transmitted over the Internet.

    A federal grand jury indicted Christopher Neal Lowther, 31, on the charges Monday.
