    District Governor’s Anthony “Tony” Bishop of Elizabethtown was one of more than 600 district governors from all over the world installed during a ceremony held in Sydney, Australia, June 28-July 2. For one year, these men and women will oversee approximately 45,000 Lions clubs made up of nearly 1.3 million Lions members in 202 countries and geographical areas around the world.

  • Thank You for coming to White Mills Days

    Once again White Mills Days have come and gone. We want to thank all those who contributed in any way to the success of the program this year. The men who grilled the chicken are to be commended for an excellent job. The members of White Mills Volunteer Fire Department contributed numerous hours to help with security and setting up. Also, we want to thank them for all that they do throughout the year.

  • 4-H members place in dairy contest

    4-H members Celia Thomas, Eli Thomas, Jordan Elmore and Logan Elmore traveled to Lexington to participate in the 2010 State 4-H Dairy Judging Contest. In the Junior Division, Jordan placed first in Jerseys, fifth in Holsteins and first overall high junior individual. Eli placed ninth in Holsteins and ranked in the top 10 overall high individuals. In the Senior Division, Celia placed 10th in Holsteins.

    Glenn MacPherson was the guest speaker at the Elizabethtown Rotary Club on July 6. He gave a talk on “Every Can Counts,” a food drive with a goal of 198,000 cans of food. MacPherson is pictured with Elizabethtown Rotary Club President Cathy Williamson.
