  • Radcliff man indicted on charges relating to apartment fire

    ELIZABETHTOWN – A Radcliff man could face 20 years or more behind bars if convicted as charged in a nine-count indictment Thursday with crimes relating to a September apartment fire.

    Victor A. Martinez, 33, was indicted last week on charges first-degree arson and eight counts of wanton endangerment.

  • Vine Grove council to address void

    VINE GROVE — The death of councilman Bill Singer sent a shock wave through the city of Vine Grove, leaving little time to ponder a replacement.

    But Mayor Donovan Smith said the void on the six-member council will have to be addressed by the Vine Grove City Council in the coming weeks.

    Steve and Sheila Haselwood of Hodgenville announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Ali Elizabeth, to Toby Blake Loyall, son of Mike and Daphne Loyall of Hodgenville.

    The bride-to-be is a 2005 graduate of LaRue County High School and is a full-time student at Western Kentucky University. She is employed at Dow Corning in Elizabethtown.

    The prospective groom is a 2005 graduate of LaRue County High School and is a satellite technician.

    The wedding will be a private ceremony with their families on Oct. 10, 2009.

    Janae Yvette French

    Janae Yvette French, infant daughter of Adrionna French, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

    Survivors other than her mother include her maternal grandparents, Regina French and Barry Howard; maternal great grandmothers, Gwendolyn French and Ethel Howard; maternal great-grandfather, Jesse R. French Sr.; and an uncle, Quenton D. French.

    Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Elizabethtown Cemetery with Dr. B.T. Bishop officiating.
