This year, each Friday I’ll take a look at the week that was in high school football and look ahead at the upcoming week. I’m back after a week in Bowling Green, so this week’s column will not be filled with sarcastic remarks and cheap shots like the previous week. I’ve heard rumors the last few weeks about Central Hardin coach Mike Lawson being on the hot seat. His job might be jeopardy.

Gleanice Ann “Sammi” Corneilson, 52, of Radcliff, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008. The funeral service is at 7 p.m. today at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff. The visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Tina Duvall, 89, of Caneyville, died Monday, Oct. 13, 2008. The funeral is at 1 p.m. CDT today at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield; burial in Sweeden Cemetery. Visitation continues from 9 a.m. CDT today until the time of the service.

CECILIA — After seeing their shot at the Class 6-A playoffs dashed by cross-county rival North Hardin last week, one might think the Central Hardin Bruins are ready to pack it in.

Well, guess again.

The Bruins (2-4) were eliminated from postseason contention for the third straight year with a 28-7 loss to the Trojans, but second-year coach Mike Lawson said his team hasn’t practiced like their season ended.

EASTVIEW — A single-vehicle automobile crash Thursday night along Ky. 84 near Eastview resulted in the death of an adult male, according to Kentucky State Police dispatchers at Elizabethtown’s Post 4 headquarters.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash and the identity of the victim has not yet been released.
