Efficiency in government was the chief argument espoused by both debaters during a political forum Monday discussing the idea of returning Hardin County to a magistrate form of government, but the two sides differed extremely on their ideas of efficiency.

HARDIN COUNTY — A local teacher was honored recently for her work in alternative education.

Pam Schapiro won the 2008 Teacher of the Year award from the Kentucky Educational Collaborative for State Agency Children. Schapiro is a social studies and special education teacher at Hardin County Day Treatment. She has been there for seven years.
