  • Crady attends Circuit Clerks Summer College

    Hardin County Circuit Court Clerk Loretta Crady participated in the 2011 Circuit Clerks Summer College held June 14-16 in Florence.

    The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Division of Driver Licensing, sponsored the event and provided training on fraudulent documents, driver education programs and services available through the Division of Driver Licensing’s field offices.

  • Jack Harris: My father, my hero

    I walk into my Dad’s office and I see the numerous plaques and awards hanging seamlessly on the walls. Then I look at the man behind them all who wouldn’t brag or boast or take credit for any of them.
    Today, I wanted to let everyone know how proud I am of my hero, Deputy Chief Jack Harris, who is retiring after 29 years from the Elizabethtown Police Department.
    The final few weeks have brought back so many memories as we browse through photographs and letters of thanks throughout his career.

    Answer: The family vacation is just as much an American staple as fireworks on the Fourth of July.  From Memorial Day to Labor Day, families all across the country visit national landmarks, beaches, mountains or just get together with friends.

  • Glendale hosts barbecue, chili cook-off

    Glendale is no stranger to street festivals, but Saturday’s was decidedly the sauciest of all.

    The Glendale Business Group hosted the Olde Time BBQ and Chili Cook-off at the park in Glendale on Saturday. Nine groups vied to place in four cooking categories, while those in attendance were happy to sample cuisine from everyone to put in their a vote for the Crowd Pleaser Award.

    This is the second year for the event, and the first time the business group has organized it. Ronnie Goodman with the group is glad to see it continue.
