  • Radcliff Woman’s Club attends workshop

    Five member so the Radcliff Woman’s Club attended the Fourth District Summer Workshop at the home of Kentucky Federation of Woman’s Clubs Governor Barbara Wright in Shepherdsville on July 31. They joined with representatives of five other district clubs to discuss activities for the year.

    Jeff and Heather Miles of Glendale announce the birth of a son, Bryson James Miles, on Aug. 27, 2010, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds, 11 ½ ounces and was 19 ½ inches long.

    Sibling is Olivia Miles of Glendale.

    Grandparents are Dave and Tracey Farris and Ricky and Tammie Cox, all of Elizabethtown, and Kevin and Darlene Miles of Bardstown.


  • CHHS Class of 2000 to have reunion

    The Central Hardin High School Class of 2000 will have a reunion from 7 to 10 p.m. Sept. 25 at the, Historic State Theater, 209 W. Dixie Ave., Elizabethtown. There will be a reception, food and a cash bar. Cost is $25 per person if paid by Aug. 24, and $35 afterwards; participants may pay by check or Pay Pal.     DeAnna “DeDe” Dudgeon and Relando “Lando” Kirk Jr., both of Elizabethtown, announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Debbie Napper of Elizabethtown and Gene Dudgeon of Cecilia; and the granddaughter of Charles and Pepper Rigdon of Eastview and the late Charles and Velar Dudgeon. She is a graduate of Elizabethtown High School and full-time homemaker to sons Drayston Grady, 13, Legend Kirk, 2, and Zeplyn Kirk, 1.

    Denise Diaz is uneasy.

    She’s wary and she’s afraid.

    Since her neighbors were found murdered inside their Shepherdsville Road home Tuesday morning, the wife and mother said she no longer feels safe inside her own home.

    “I don’t even let my children play outside,” Diaz said.

    Eric and Misty Lanz of Lebanon announce the birth of a son, Noah Gordon Lanz on Aug. 5, 2010, at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. He weighed 9 pounds, 7 ounces and was 22 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Butch and Brini Gordon of Lebanon; and paternal grandparents are Jim and Charlene Lanz of Elizabethtown.

  • MOWW recognizes students


    The Military Order of the World Wars (MOWW) and the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) continued to recognize cadet outstanding achievement by participating in the seventh, and last, Fort Knox ROTC Leaders Training Course (LTC) graduation ceremony held at Brooks Field Fort Knox on Aug. 7. The LTC is conducted only at Fort Knox for students who elect to enter the Senior ROTC program in their junior year.
