  • Rachel Priddy named Lion's CHHS Student of the Month

    At the Oct. 20 meeting of the Elizabethtown Lions Club, Lion Jim Weise, right, introduced the club’s Student of the Month from Central Hardin High School – Rachel Priddy. Rachel holds a 4.0 grade-point average and received a score of 30 on the ACT test. She is president of the Executive School Council, Beta Club and Y Club and is vice president of Youth in Charge. She also is captain of the varsity cross country team. After graduation she plans to attend the University of Kentucky and earn a degree in nursing. She was accompanied by her mother, Vera Priddy.

  • Grandmother announces birth of Laina

        Peggy Pugh announces the birth of her granddaughter, Laina Teagyn Barnett, on July 6, 2009, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville. She weighed 6 pounds, 3 ounces and was 19 inches long. Parents are B.J. and Danielle Barnett of Louisville. Siblings are Shai-Ann and Christopher Vera of Louisville. Grandparents are Tom and Peggy Pugh of Elizabethtown, Robert Barnett Sr.

  • Rowlands announce birth of son

    Bob and Crissy Rowland of Bowling Green announce the birth of a son, Noah Barrett Rowland, on July 17, 2009, at The Medical Center in Bowling Green. He weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Sheila and Eric Puckett of Leitchfield and Greg and Billie Sue Hodges of Vine Grove. Paternal grandparents are David and Beverly Rowland of Glensfork.

  • Rineyville Alumni Association has annual dinner and meeting

    The Rineyville Alumni Association annual meeting and dinner was held Oct. 3 at Pritchard Community Center. There were 303 in attendance. This year marked the 50th anniversary of the association.

    The first meeting and banquet was held in the Rineyville School cafeteria in 1959 and was organized by H. L. Perkins, principal of Rineyville, and a small group of alumni. After years of meeting at the school, the group moved to the Holiday Inn North. In 1993, due to ever growing numbers, the annual meeting was moved to the Pritchard Community Center.
