The eyes of the golf world will be on Louisville and the state of Kentucky this weekend as the Ryder Cup takes place at Valhalla Golf Club off Shelbyville Road.

Valhalla has been home to two PGA Championships, but landing the 37th annual Ryder Cup, the premiere international golfing event, makes for the largest stage golf has had in the Bluegrass State.

Players from the United States, including two from Kentucky, will collide over the three-day event of match play with their counterparts from Europe with Ryder Cup supremacy at stake.

Junior midfielder Logan Railey and junior forward Zack Brown each scored an unassisted goal in the second half to lead the visiting Meade County Green Wave to a 2-0 win over 10th District rival Fort Knox on Tuesday.

Meade County (5-2-1 overall, 2-1 district) won for the fourth time in its last five games and moved into a tie with Central Hardin for the No. 3 seed in the upcoming district tournament.

Fort Knox (6-5-1, 0-3) lost its second game in a row after winning the Barren County Trojan Classic earlier this month.

RADCLIFF — The John Hardin Bulldogs are 2-0 at Bulldog Stadium with convincing wins over Woodford County and Warren Central.

On the road, it’s been a different story. The Bulldogs haven’t been nearly as dominant, winning their only road contest 16-0 over Meade County.
