  • PREP BASEBALL OPINION: Pitts thinks Central Hardin has a chance to win it all (6/7)

    A few notes after last week’s 5th Region Baseball Tournament at LaRue County High School. The Central Hardin Bruins won their second region title in three years and earned a berth in the Forcht Bank/KHSAA State Baseball Tournament, which begins next week at Applebee’s Park in Lexington. And one local coach thinks the Bruins could make some noise at the state tournament.

    20 years ago, American Legion Post No. 113 held a Veteran’s Day Memorial service and destroyed 27 American flags that had been removed from service at various schools, industries and residences.

    Bobbie Lorine Pentecost, 45, of Cecilia, died Friday, June 4, 2010. The funeral is at 1 p.m. today at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with burial in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation continues at 9 a.m. today at the funeral home.
