  • ALL-AREA SOFTBALL TEAM: Meade County, Central Hardin rack up most honors (06/23)

Quality equated to quantity this season for the Meade County Lady Waves and the Central Hardin Lady Bruins.

The only two squads in the seven-team area to advance to a region tournament semifinal, Meade County and Central Hardin went 1-2 in all four individual award categories – Coach of the Year, Player of the Year, Pitcher of the Year and Sophomore of the Year – as well as took the top two spots on the 2010 All-Area Softball Team itself.

The first is a recipe that Kathy Frank requested. She said that years ago, around 1986 to 1991, Woman’s World magazine featured a recipe for Chocolate Banana Squares baked in a jelly roll pan. I found this recipe online, and Kathy will let us know if it is close to what she remembers.

There was also a Chocolate Banana Bars recipe that I found that sounded good as well, so I am including it also.

  • ALL-AREA SOFTBALL TEAM: Central's Krupinski voted Pitcher of the Year (06/23)

As good as a season Kristina Krupinski had inside the pitcher’s circle this year for Central Hardin, Lady Bruins coach Mark Martin said the junior should have been even better.

Even though his team returned quite a bit from a run to the 2009 region final, Martin’s Lady Bruins were slow out of the gate. They started off 2-7 and didn’t score more than two runs in a game until April 5 – 13 days into the season.
