  • Mother welcomes Ashton Clinton


    Angela Yates announces the birth of a son, Ashton Clinton Yates on Feb. 10, 2010, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds, 13.5 ounces and was 19.5 inches long.

    Parents are Angela and Jimmy Yates of Buffalo.

    Grandparents are James and Frances Yates of Rineyville, Bonnie Fontana of Munfordville and Larry Fontana of Shelbyville.

    Great-grandparents are Jim and Janice Ballow of Munfordville and Alice Yates of Vine Grove.

    When serviceberry trees displayed their lacy, white flowers, folks used to say winter’s grip had loosened enough for preachers to travel for services and the ground had thawed enough for burials. It would be time to start packing.

  • Saturday wrecks snarl I-65 traffic



    Travel Saturday morning along Interstate 65’s stretch through Hardin County slowed to a creep in both directions after injury wrecks jammed traffic.

    The first major collision occurred around 10 a.m. at the 98-mile marker between Lebanon Junction and Elizabethtown exits and involved a tractor-trailer. At least one patient was airlifted to a Louisville hospital for critical care.

  • Homemakers Get Lesson On Breakfast

    On Jan. 29, the Goldenrod Homemakers took a class on Fast Break Breakfast, based on a program given at the Hardin County Extension Service Office. Instructor, Kay Kennedy, taught the class and had several recipes for everyone. She used some of the recipes to make a brunch. Everyone enjoyed the meal. Kay Kennedy is pictured with Judy Sandfer.

    Charles Richard Duncan Charles Richard Duncan, 77, of Cecilia, died Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.He was a native of Hardin County and an active member of Blue Ball Baptist Church. He served as a deacon, trustee and clerk of the church for many years. He was a retired tool and die maker for Bussman Manufacturing as well as a farmer. He served in the Army and was

    Alix and Kayla McIntyre announce the birth of a brother, Ryan James Rothert, on Feb. 25, 2010. He weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces and was 18 inches long.

    Mother is DeAndra Rothert-McIntyre of Elizabethtown.

    Maternal grandparents are Dennis and Darla Rothert of Elizabethtown.
