    Benjamin and Melanie Castile of Hodgenville announce the birth of a son, Maddox Jay Castile, on Sept. 29, 2009, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He weighed 6 pounds, 2 ounces and was 19 inches long.

    He has a brother, Cody Leake.

  • Fire chiefs issue heater warnings

    HARDIN COUNTY — Fire safety officer Rusty Todd said Elizabethtown has seen an increase in small fires recently, and many of them may have been started by a lack of thought when using heating devices.

    The issue is one that rears its head each year when temperatures turn frosty, and Todd said precautions should be taken when heating homes.
