  • Radcliff Rotary welcomes golf pro

    Guest of Radcliff Rotarian Howard Williams recently was Clyde Hill, resident pro at Fort Knox Lindsay Golf Course. Hill gave a review of the course facilities and discussed the special programs and activities that take place at Lindsay. He emphasized that Lindsay is open to the public and a number of Rotarians are members there. Four free rounds of golf were raffled off and Club President “Lucky Bill” Dennison was among the winners.

  • Brother welcomes Carson

     

    Malakai announces the birth of a brother, Carson Caniskis Lowery, on April 1 2010. He weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces and was 19 inches long.

    Parents are Carslow Caniskis and Natascha Lowery of Louisville.

    Grandparents are John and Dianne Lowery and Julius and Petra Davis, all of Radcliff.

  • EPD part of Click It or Ticket campaign

    STAFF REPORT

    For the next two weeks, police in Elizabethtown will be on alert for motorists who aren’t buckled up.

    Beginning today, the Elizabethtown Police Department will join the nation-wide Click It or Ticket campaign, and officers will be strictly enforcing seat belt laws, according to an EPD news release. The campaign lasts until June 6.

    The campaign’s goal is to get more drivers and passengers to wear seat belts, which can reduce the number of injuries and deaths from traffic accidents, according to the news release.

    1 Elizabethtown Country Club members and guests enjoyed the annual Derby party along with solo guitarist Dennis Labriola.

  • Hawkins helps Stamp Out Hunger

    Hardin County Chamber of Commerce President Rik Hawkins, left, was a guest letter carrier for the Elizabethtown Post Office’s 18th annual “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive on May 8. Hawkins joined Jackson Gillock, son of letter carrier Mike Gillock, in collecting food along their mail route. Elizabethtown letter carriers collected more than 12,000 pounds of food this year.

     

  • Two injured in motorcycle wreck

    Two people were injured Sunday in a motorcycle wreck on Ky. 144.

    Randall Hendricks, 42, and Sherra Hendricks, 49, of Hawesville, were traveling with a group of motorcycles on Ky. 144, when the group braked to turn on Flood Road, according to a news release from Kentucky State Police. Randall Hendricks braked suddenly after failing to see the group in front of him slow down, causing the motorcycle to skid and fall, throwing off both riders.
