  • Camden Wayne announce birth of brothers

     

    Camden Wayne Crowe of Elizabethtown announces the birth of his twin brothers, Barton Thomas Crowe and Brayden Michael Crowe, on Dec. 24, 2008, at University of Louisville Hospital. Barton weighed 2.2 pounds and was 13 inches long, and Brayden weighed 2.6 pounds and was 13 inches long.

    They are the children of Patrick and Debbie Crowe of Elizabethtown.

  • Upton woman killed by train

    The News-Enterprise

    An Upton woman died Saturday after being struck by a train near her home on Quarry Road, according to Kentucky State Police.

    Wanda Murray, 61, was pronounced dead by the Hardin County Coroner’s office after stepping into the path of an oncoming train, according to KSP. Police said the engineer saw Murray and attempted to stop the train, but it continued moving even after emergency stop equipment was deployed.

    Police have since notified the family and do not consider alcohol a factor.

  • Kennedys celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

    Bill and Brenda Kennedy of Sonora will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 2 to 4 p.m., Aug. 9, 2009, with a cake and punch reception hosted by their children and grandchildren at the Thurman-Phillips Historical Home, 103 Broadway St., Sonora.

    They were married Aug. 9, 1959 at Gilead Baptist Church in Glendale.

    They have two children, Zina Watts of Hodgenville and John Kennedy of Richmond, and four grandchildren.

    All friends and relatives are invited to attend.

    Kade William Olive of Vine Grove announces the birth of his brother, Keagan Josef Olive, on May 10, 2009, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville. The baby weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces and was 21½ inches long.

    Parents are Karl William Olive and Amy Jo Olive of Vine Grove.

    Maternal grandparents are Hugh and Linda Gregory of Elizabethtown. Paternal grandparents are Betty Olive of Radcliff and the late Kermit F. Olive.

     

  • Tobiases to celebrate 50th anniversary

    Walter and Ruth Tobias of Radcliff are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

    Mr. Tobias is a retired command sergeant major with 30 years of service in the Army. Mrs. Tobias is retired with more than 20 years of service with the Post Exchange, having served with the PX both overseas and in the United States.

    They have four children, Kasandra Tobias White of Harrisburg, Pa., Walter Tobias Jr. of Chicago, Timothy E. Tobias of Los Angeles and Staff Sgt. Anthony Tobias of Fort Jackson, S.C.; they also have three grandchildren.
