  • PREP SOCCER ROUNDUP: Lady Hawks tie Monroe; E'town falls at Nelson (09/25)

    Sophomore Shelbi Brooks scored to lift the visiting LaRue County Lady Hawks to a 1-1 tie with Monroe County on Saturday.

    Junior keeper Kasey Wells made seven saves for the Lady Hawks (6-5-3).

  • PREP VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Meade finishes second in E'town event (09/25)

    A rough week ended in disappointing fashion for Elizabethtown’s volleyball team in its own Hilliard Lyons Lady Panthers Fall Classic.

    Elizabethtown finished in third place, falling to rival Meade County in three sets (20-25, 25-18, 15-10) in the semifinals at Elizabethtown High School.

    The Lady Panthers (23-7) defeated North Bullitt (22-25, 25-22, 15-13), Ohio County (25-17, 25-22), Owensboro (25-13, 25-13) in pool play and Bullitt East (25-7, 25-17) in their crossover match.

  • Lincoln Days conducts opening events today

    The Lincoln Days Festival begins Saturday but opening ceremonies and other preliminary events begin today in downtown Hodgenville.

    The Lincoln Museum Community Room on Lincoln Square is site of the ceremonies and a reception sponsored by LaRue Fiscal Court. The festival art show is on display all week in the community room.

    The reception and art show are free. Baby contests, costume contests and Little Abe and Little Sarah contests will be held in the Hodgenville Civic Center. Activities begin at 2 p.m.
