    Mr. and Mrs. Henry Canales of Radcliff announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their son, Daniel Joseph Canales of Louisville, to Jessica Lynn Ellison of Vermontville, Mich., daughter of Henry Ellison and Cheryl Ellison.

    The bride-to-be is a 2005 graduate of Maple Valley High School in Nashville, Mich., and is a student at Lansing Community College in Lansing, Mich. She works at Moo-Ville Dairy Farm in Vermontville.

    Truman and Mary Lou Strader of Sonora announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Mary Fawn Strader of Sonora to Joseph Bradley Stults of Sonora, son of Charles and Mechel Stults of Sonora.

    The bride-to-be is a 2004 graduate of Central Hardin High School and a 2007 graduate of Elizabethtown Community and Technical College with an associate’s degree in medical information technology. She is employed at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

    Mr. and Mrs. Terry Rich of Laurel, Md., announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Maria Daniella Rich, to Ezekiel Charles Darnell, son of Dr. and Mrs. Robert N. Darnell of Elizabethtown.

    The bride-to-be is a graduate of the University of Maryland and will be attending the University of Baltimore Law School in Baltimore this fall.

  • Grandmother welcomes Alijah David James

    Tracie Filyaw of Elizabethtown announces the birth of a grandson, Alijah David James Henderson, on Dec. 30, 2008, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

    He weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    Parents are Stephanie A. Sims and Greg A. Henderson, both of Elizabethtown.

    Other grandparents are David L. Sims and Suzanne Henderson, both of Elizabethtown, and Alan Henderson of Rineyville.

  • Woman’s Club supports the PAC

    The Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown members support arts in the community in many different ways. Special efforts are made to assist with the productions at the Hardin County Schools Performing Arts Center at John Hardin High School. Diane Willis, president, took a contribution from the club and presented it to Bart Lovins for use in the upcoming season. Club members look to the productions that will be presented this year with much anticipation.

  • Harned celebrates 90th birthday

    M.P. Harned will celebrate his 90th birthday with an open house, hosted by his children, from 1 to 3 p.m. July 11, 2009, at the Brown-Pusey House, 128 N. Main St., Elizabethtown. 

    All friends and relatives are invited to attend.

     

  • Sister welcomes Sophie Grace Walker

     

     

    Olivia Walker of Cecilia announces the birth of a sister, Sophie Grace Walker, on April 28, 2009, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She weighed 5 pounds, 10 ounces and was 17 ½ inches long.

    Parents are Greg and Gayle Walker of Cecilia.

    Maternal grandparents are Charles and Daryl Ryan of Elizabethtown; and paternal grandparents are Robert and Shirley Walker of Shepherdsville.

    Great-grandparents are Paul and Kathleen Covell of Elizabethtown.
