    An Elizabethtown food pantry on Tuesday plans to show off a new center that will allow it to accept more volunteers.

  • Summer lunch program begins today

    Students and staff have vacated school buildings for the summer, but school lunches will continue to be served in some buildings, despite the barren classrooms.

    The Hardin County Schools Summer Food Service Program begins today. Children can receive a free lunch throughout the summer.

  • Pops in the Park set for July 16

    First Federal Savings Bank has announced that the annual Pops in the Park concert will take place Friday, July 16, at Freeman Lake Park. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the concert begins at 8:30 p.m.

    The alternate rain date for the event, if needed, is July 18 at the park.

    Gary and Sandra Payton of Elizabethtown and Jerry and Sandra Alford of Roundhill announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their children, Laura Anne Payton of Elizabethtown and Kevan Ryan Alford of Roundhill.

    The bride-to-be is a 2004 graduate of Central Hardin High School and a 2008 graduate of Western Kentucky University. She is a teacher at North Hardin High School.

    The prospective groom is a 2004 graduate of Edmonson County High School and a 2008 graduate of WKU. He is a teacher at Edmonson County High School.
