  • Kuklinski graduates from basic training

    KUKLINSKI. Air Force Airman Ashley N. Kuklinski graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

    She is the daughter of Tony Kuklinski of Elizabethtown.

    Kuklinski  is a 2010 graduate of Elizabethtown High School.

  • Stefanko graduates from basic training

    STEFANKO. Air Force Airman Jonathan D. Stefanko graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

    He is the son of David and Janice Stefanko of Elizabethtown.

    Stefanko graduated in 2010 from John Hardin High School in Elizabethtown.

    RULE. Air Force Airman Brian M. Rule graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

    He is the son of David and Melanie Rule of Vine Grove.

    Rule graduated in 2010 from Meade County High School in Brandenburg.

  • Elizabethtown Woman’s Club remembers members

    The Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown honored two of their members that passed away recently. Alene Craddock and Joan Hornback were remembered with a book donated to the Hardin County library in their honor. Lessons in Likeness was presented in Hornback’s memory as she was an artist and The Words of Extraordinary Women was presented in Craddock’s memory as she was very involved in state government.

  • ABC Award Winners for February

    The Elizabethtown-Hardin County Chamber of Commerce recognizes students from area high schools for their academic achievements and extracurricular activities by presenting them with ABC (Academics Mean a Better Community) awards during the Feb. 10 Chamber Luncheon at Pritchard Community Center. The ABC sponsor this month was Wilson & Muir Bank. Jeanine Anderson from the bank presented the students with the award and $50.

  • Cold case to appear on ‘America’s Most Wanted’

    Vicki Heath’s life was on an upswing.

    The 41-year-old mother of two from Hardinsburg, who enjoyed reading romance novels, had recently become engaged, was working and lived in Radcliff.

    Then came a phone call her sister, Kathy Johnson, never will forget. Just like that, her sister was gone.

    Heath’s body was found Feb. 21, 1987, near a trash bin behind a Super 8 Motel on North Mulberry Street where she worked as a desk clerk. She had been sexually assaulted and shot twice in the head with a .38 caliber handgun.
