    Juergen and Sharon Struwe of Elizabethtown announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Starr Hobbs, to Kenneth Sallee, son of Mike Sallee of Nashville, Tenn., and Eva Mae Aubrey of Elizabethtown.

    The bride-to-be is a 2000 graduate of Central Hardin High School. She is employed by First Federal Savings Bank in Elizabethtown.

    The prospective groom is a 1999 graduate of Central Hardin High School and is a Army veteran. He is employed as an IT specialist with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service at Fort Knox.

    • Aside from non-melanoma skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women. Breast cancer is the number one cause of cancer death in Hispanic women. It is the second most common cause of cancer death in white, black, Asian/Pacific Islander, and American Indian/Alaska Native women.
    • In 2005, 186,467 women and 1,764 men were diagnosed with breast cancer. In the same year, 41,116 women and 375 men died from breast cancer.

  • Club members get update on real estate and home construction


    The Elizabethtown Noon Rotary Club welcomed Mrs. Jerry Howard of the Lincoln Trail Home Builders Association as the featured speaker at the Oct. 6 meeting. Howard gave the club an update on real estate and home construction in Hardin County, as well as informing the members about changes associated with BRAC. She is pictured with Rotarian Alex Brosky.

  • Jadelyn competes and wins in area pageants

        Jadelyn Mae Peters, 12-month-old daughter of Chris and Ashley Peters, competed in the Natural Dolls USA State Pageant in Richmond in the 13-23-month-old age division where she was crowned queen. She also won Most Beautiful and Best Outfit of Choice. Jadelyn also won first place at Howevalley Days and Western Hardin County Days pageants, and she competed in the Glitzy C
