  • Parents welcome Andrew Morganthal

    Sean and Mia Wireman announce the birth of a son, Andrew Morganthal Wireman, on Aug. 22, 2011, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces and was 19.25 inches long.

    Sisters are Katherine and Caroline.

    Grandparents are George and Linda Wireman of Franklin, Ind., and Jack and Wandalee Crain-Watts of Joplin, Mo. 

  • Sisters welcome Megan Elizabeth

    McKenna and Macy Johnson announce the birth of a sister, Megan Elizabeth Johnson, on March 24, 2011, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces and was 18 ½ inches long.

    Parents are Matt and Shauna Johnson of Elizabethtown.

    Maternal grandparents are Doug and Vickie Hilton of Hodgenville. Paternal grandparents are Rodney and Diana Johnson of Elizabethtown.

  • Adamses celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

    Starr and Sherry Adams of Elizabethtown will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 15, 2011.

    They were married Oct. 15, 1961, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Cooks Mills, Ill.

    They have two children, Eric Adams of Elizabethtown and Wendy Dykes of Columbia; and nine grandchildren.

  • Reesors celebrate 55th wedding anniversary

    Jim and Noreida Reesor of Radcliff celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on Oct. 3, 2011.

    They were married Oct. 3, 1956, at Horse Cave Baptist Church in Horse Cave.

    They have three children, Lynne Evans, Vicki Houk and Lisa Ortis; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

  • Uzzells celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

    Jimmy and Marie Uzzell will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house given by their children and grandchildren from 2 to 4 p.m., Oct. 15, 2011, at College Heights United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown.

    They were married Oct. 15, 1961, by the Rev. A.J. Irvin at Glenn’s Chapel United Methodist Church near Spring Hill, Tenn.

    They are members of College Heights United Methodist Church.

    All friends and relatives are invited to attend.

    The couple request no gifts.

    Winners in the age 11 and under category, first place Casey Priddy, second place Savannah Sheyenne Rose and third place Kelly Logsdon; age 12 to 17 winners were: first place Michalea Rock and  second place was the duo of Ashley Dorsey and Kate Carnes; age 18 and over, first place tie with Alex Nunn and Grant Miller, second place was Clint Abell and third place was Bridgett Nealy. Overall contest winner and winner of $100 was Grant Miller.

  • Venture Group holds October meeting

     

    The Lincoln Trail Venture Group met on Oct. 5 at Stone Hearth Restaurant. Updates were presented from four companies that have received investments from the group.  Digitech Services/Jailtracker, Cool Cover LLC, CMS Text and Synapse were all represented at the meeting.

  • Shoney’s celebrates 25th anniversary

    Shoney’s of Elizabethtown celebrated their 25th anniversary in the Hardin County area with a ribbon cutting on Sept. 30. They are located at 1046 Executive Drive, Elizabethtown. In attendance were Amanda Portman, Shoney’s; Chamber board member Mark Haynes of Gold Star Realty/Hodges Auction; Shoney’s staff, friends and Chamber ambassadors.
