     Paul C. Avery

    Paul C. Avery, 85, of Upton, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at his residence in Upton.

    He was a lifetime member and deacon of Lucas Grove Baptist Church. Paul was a member of the Kentucky Cattlemen’s Association. He was an avid traveler, and he and his wife, Nancy, drove through all 50 states. Paul went on two mission trips and visited six continents. Paul was a cattle farmer and was retired from Civil Service at Fort Knox. He was a World War II pilot in the Army Air Corps.

    He was the retired owner and operator of Evergreen Farms in Hodgenville, a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church in Elizabethtown and a Kentucky Colonel.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Sanders Beams; and a sister, Lois Spratt.
