  • Bolin-Ogden

    Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Bolin of West Liberty and Shirley Ogden of Elizabethtown announce the engagement of their children, Nateila LaShae Bolin of West Liberty, and Joseph James-Joshua Ogden of Elizabethtown.

    The bride-to-be is a 2008 graduate of Morgan County High School.

    The prospective groom is also the son of the late Jim Ogden. He attended Central Hardin High School and Somerset Utility Lineman School. He is employed by Pike’s Electric in Louisville.

  • Dance Centre hosts dance camps

    The Dance Centre of Elizabethtown held its annual summer dance camp July 12 and 13 for children ages four through six. The children danced for three hours each day and enjoyed classes in ballet, junior jazz, Celtic soft shoe and basic modern dance. During break time, each dancer worked on take-home folders that included worksheets on dance and several other arts and crafts projects. Included in the dance camp package were complimentary tickets for each dancer to attend either The Stephen Foster Story or Footloose in Bardstown.

  • Optimist Club members get floral lesson

    The Optimist Club of Radcliff held its regular meeting Aug. 10. The guest speakers were from Helen’s Flowers of Radcliff. Sue Hlavinka and Julie Debibar spoke to the club about the history and importance of various flowers and demonstrated how an arrangement is made.

  • Bishop to celebrate 80th birthday

    Elizabeth “Libby” Bishop will celebrate her 80th birthday with a party in her honor from 1 to 3 p.m., Aug. 14, 2010, at Sportsman Lake in Hodgenville.

    She was born Aug. 13, 1930.

    She four children, Libby Grimes and J.D., Kenny and Karla Bishop; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

    All friends and relatives are invited to enjoy food and music.

    No gifts, please.

     

  • PREP FOOTBALL: Trojans look to get back on track against E'town (09/16)

    Coming off back-to-back losses, the second being a lopsided loss to bitter rival John Hardin, the Trojans know they are on a slippery slope.

    Last year they were in the exact same spot and lost their footing, going winless the rest of the season. This time they plan on digging in their heels.
