    Carla Michelle Dohn and Jerome Aaron Hoffie, both of Magnolia, were married May 16, 2009, at Valley Creek Baptist Church in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Joe Ramirez officiating.

    The couple have a son, Shayne Aaron Hoffie. The bride is the daughter of Joe and Glenda Dohn of Hodgenville, the granddaughter of Fred and Nannie Dohn, Dixie Pearman and the late J.T. Pearman, and the great-granddaughter of Willie and Ruby Berry. The groom is the son of Bob and Patty Hoffie of Magnolia and the grandson of Ken and Betty Hoffie.

    Sherrards celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

    Bobby and Sue Sherrard will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 3 to 6 p.m., today, May 31, 2009, at the home of their son Philip, 595 Wooden Lane, Elizabethtown.

    They were married June 1, 1959.

    They have two sons, Robert Jr. and Philip; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

    All friends and relatives are invited to attend.

  • Vine Grove Women’s Club presents scholarships

    The Vine Grove Women’s Club held their final meeting of the year at Barbara Lewis’ home on June 2, 2009. President Sallie Potts presented $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors’ Molly Proffitt and Grafton Sizemore. The Club will resume meetings on Sept, 1.

  • Brother welcomes Grayson Allen

    Cooper Clark announces the birth of a brother, Grayson Allen Clark, on May 12, 2009, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and was 19 inches long.

    Parents are Doug and Kelli Clark of Hodgenville.

    Grandparents are Kenny and Stephanie Clark of Cecilia, Clay and Lisa Stretch of Louisville and Steve and Ava Allen of New Haven.

    Great-grandparents are Kenneth and Jewell Allen of Nelsonville and Dolores Harrison of Louisville.

    Gregory and Carol Pachniak of Elizabethtown announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Kelly Pachniak, to Brandon Fink, son of Mike and Peggy Fink of Elizabethtown.

    The bride-to-be is a 2002 graduate of Central Hardin High School. She is pursuing a business degree at Sullivan University and is employed by Fort Knox Federal Credit Union.

    The prospective groom is a 2000 graduate of North Hardin High School and an Air Force Iraq Veteran. He works in the family business and raises cattle.
