    Oh Cecil-ia.

    Elizabethtown junior guard Kaylyn Cecil had the John Hardin Lady Bulldogs back on their knees early in the first half.

    Her first-quarter scoring outburst, along the Lady Panthers’ stifling defense, lifted Elizabethtown to another 17th District win Saturday night.

    Cecil scored nine of her game-high 18 points in the first quarter and senior Natalie Greenwell added 11 points to lead Elizabethtown to a 60-37 win.

  • Bridal Showcase 2011 takes stage today

    Bridal Showcase 2011, a free event staged by The News-Enterprise, is scheduled today at Pritchard Community Center in Elizabethtown. More than 30 vendors will participate.

    The Showcase runs from noon to 4:30 p.m. Sunday with a fashion show from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

  • E'town man charged with two robberies

    HARDIN COUNTY — An Elizabethtown man has been arrested in the robbery of two local motels.
    Eric D. Pleasant, 24, was arrested Wednesday.
    He is accused of robbing the Fort Knox Inn in Radcliff and the Roadside Inn in Elizabethtown in July.
    In the Fort Knox Inn robbery, Pleasant is accused of first-degree robbery when he pointed a handgun at the desk clerk. He allegedly stated “Gimmie the money,” to which the clerk gave him $220 from the cash register.
