    Shayne Aaron Hoffie announces the engagement and forthcoming marriage of his parents, Carla Michelle Dohn and Jerome Aaron Hoffie, both of Magnolia.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Joseph and Glenda Dohn of Hodgenville. She is a 2007 graduate of LaRue County High School is a financial service representative at Citizens Union Bank.

    The prospective groom is the son of Robert and Patricia Hoffie of Magnolia. He is a 2004 graduate of LaRue County High School and performs lawn maintenance at DVS.

    The sounds of young people filled the Kentucky National Guard Armory in Elizabethtown on April 26, as they gathered to participate in Right to Life Kentucky Heartland’s 2nd Annual Youth Rally for Life. The event brought together area youth and local pro-life organizations for an evening of education and awareness on right to life issues.

        GEIB. Air Force Airman 1st Class Bradley J. Geib graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. He earned distinction as an honor graduate of the course. He is the son of Boyd Geib of Jacksonville, N.C., and Venus VanDeventer of Fort Knox.

    Girl Scout Troop 1041 at Elizabethtown Christian Academy collected 127 pounds of food for the Second Harvest BackPack Program and took a tour of Second Harvest facility.

    Daniel and Leah White announce the birth of a daughter, Molly Diane White, on Feb. 5, 2009. She weighed 9 pounds, 6 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    Grandparents are Mark and Jackie Williams of Upton and Vernon and Vickie White of Hardyville.

    Great-grandparents are Norbert and Frances Williams of Sonora, Hubert and Janice Riggs of Clarkson and Irene Williams of Hardyville.

    Master Gardeners Plant Fair a success

    The Lincoln Trail Area Master Gardeners held their 11th annual Plant Fair on May 16. With the weather conditions being less than perfect it turned out to be a great day for all who participated and those attending. The new plant taxis proved to be a great success and as usual for kids and adults alike, the verdigris tent was busy. All in all, the crowd was enthusiastic, the vendors were exceptional, and the food was great.
