  • Vine Grove gearing up for growth

    VINE GROVE — As the Base Realignment and Closure project at Fort Knox looms ever closer, local governments are making gradual efforts to accommodate the thousands of new citizens expected to pour into the region.

    City officials in Vine Grove are no different. The city has been tapped for $840,000 in federal funding for sewer improvements to meet BRAC needs, and it  has made steps to bolster its emergency services, said Mayor Donovan Smith.

    Frances B. Carman Frances B. Carman, 88, of Leitchfield, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, in Leitchfield. She was born Nov. 25, 1920 and was a homemaker, farmer and a member of Mount Hebron Gospel Mission Church.
